  • Day tickets are available at the ticket office at the valley station or in the ticket store.
  • The trail is located at the Läger, see winter map.
  • From the mountain station you can reach the trail in about 10-15 minutes via the winter hiking trail (see info screens on site).
  • 100 % natural snow and daily trail grooming.
  • The trail is usually prepared for "skating".
  • For endurance runners and connoisseurs - alone, as a couple, in a group or with a dog.

GUIDELINES
  • Consideration: Watch out for less experienced riders and do not endanger anyone.
  • Signalization and running direction: Observe the signals and instructions. Always run in the direction indicated.
  • Choice of lane: Get in and out cleanly to protect the lane. Keep to the right-hand traffic. In double or multiple lanes, the slower one runs on the right.
  • Overtaking: Overtake on single lanes to the left of the lane. In dual lanes, use the left-hand lane for overtaking.
  • Oncoming traffic: If there is oncoming traffic (runners in the same lane), swerve to the right.
  • Poles: Keep your poles close to your body when overtaking, being overtaken and crossing so as not to endanger anyone.
  • Speed: Adapt your speed on downhill sections to the terrain, visibility and your ability.
  • Keep the running lane clear: Take a breather and discuss off the running lane. If you fall, get to safety next to the track.
  • Assistance: In the event of an accident on the running track, you are obliged to provide assistance.
  • Litter: Do not leave any waste on the trail or in the terrain.

What you should know.

What means of payment can I use?

You can pay at the ticket machines and at the ticket office with all major credit and debit cards as well as with Twint. Cash and REKA checks are also accepted. Payment with REKA checks is only possible at the ticket counter. Further information and tickets can be found directly in our ticket store.

How do I travel by train (public transport)?

You can reach Kandersteg by train from Spiez and Brig. From Adelboden and Frutigen there is a bus (AFA) to Kandersteg. The walk from the station takes approx. 10-15 minutes. From June to October, a local bus runs from the station to the valley station for every train arrival/departure.

What outdoor guidelines apply to the use of toilets?

Public toilets are located at the mountain and valley stations and at the mountain restaurant on the lake shore. Further toilets are available in Oeschinensee. Going to the toilet in nature should be avoided. However, if you do need to use the "natural toilet", please do not leave any paper, tissues or wet wipes behind.

Where can I park? Is it possible to reserve a parking space?

Parking spaces cannot currently be reserved. Parking spaces in Kandersteg are limited at weekends and during the summer. From around 12 noon onwards, there may be no parking spaces available – we recommend arriving early. Parking spaces are available for guests at the valley station from 6 a.m. until the evening. Hikers heading to Oeschinensee should use the hiking parking spaces in the village (lower hiking parking rates). No vehicles are allowed to enter at night. Vehicles are limited to a maximum length of 5 meters and a maximum height of 2 meters. Paid parking spaces and parking spaces for larger vehicles are located in the village and at the Schützenhaus.

Are lockers available at the top or bottom station?

Yes, there are lockers and ski racks at the top and bottom stations. Payment can be made digitally by debit card, Visa/Mastercard, Twint or cash. Weekly and season passes for lockers and ski racks are available at the ticket office.

How is the piste and rescue service provided?

Daily monitoring of marked and open slopes and trails ends with a final check at 5:00 p.m. Outside of operating hours, all slopes and winter hiking trails are closed and are not secured against hazards such as avalanche blasting, snow groomers, etc. In the event of an incident during operating hours, please contact the SOS patrol at +41 79 481 01 12. Outside of operating hours, please contact REGA 1414 or 112.

What outdoor guidelines apply in wildlife quiet zones and protected areas?

It is not permitted to enter wildlife rest areas, plant protection areas and restricted zones. Signposts mark the protected area zones where special rules apply. Never leave the marked paths and tracks and always follow the signs on site. Plants may not be dug up, picked or trampled.

What outdoor guidelines apply to waste collection and separation?

Collect the waste and dispose of it in the waste stations. Waste separation stations are located at the mountain and valley stations, at the mountain coaster and along the main hiking trails.

What outdoor guidelines apply when providing first aid?

In an emergency, call the 1414 rescue service immediately. In winter, the SOS patrolman (0041 79 481 01 12) should also be informed. There is an SOS room at the mountain and valley stations. Defibrillators are located at the mountain and valley stations and at the Oeschinensee mountain restaurant, near the lakeshore.
