The Oeschinensee cannot be reached by car!
Spiez: Follow the signs to Kandersteg and stay on the main road. Directly after the small bridge vis à vis Käthi-Sport-Mode turn left and follow the road keeping left until you reach the car park directly at the valley station.
Lötschberg car transport: Follow the signs to Kandersteg. The journey takes you through Bahnhofstrasse to the main road, turn left. At the crossroads vis à vis Käthy Sport + Mode, turn right and keep left until you reach the car park directly at the valley station.
Parking spaces at the entrance to Kandersteg
Other parking "Im Chehr", which is recommended especially in fine weather and therefore when there is a large crowd. A short walk of about 5-10 minutes follows. Directly at the entrance to the village.
Special parking spaces are available for buses/coaches at the valley station or at the municipal administration.
For a stress-free journey, we recommend the BLS Lötschberger adventure train. You can find the timetable here. From Kandersteg railroad station you can reach the valley station of Cable car Oeschinensee on foot (15 min.) or by local bus (8 min.):
Follow the signs to Oeschinensee from the train station. Go straight on towards the main road, turn left. Take the left fork at the bridge. Then follow the road until you reach the valley station.
Train station - Oeschinen valley station Bus service - June - October each train is served by a bus from/to Oeschinensee valley station.
The Cable car from Kandersteg to Oeschinensee is connected to public transport - so don't forget your GA or Half-Fare travel card. The Junior Card is valid and entitles children accompanied by a parent to free travel.
From Spiez and Brig you can reach Kandersteg by train (BLS). From Adelboden and Frutigen there is a bus (AFA) to Kandersteg. The walk from the station takes about 10 minutes. There is a local bus from the station for every arrival/departure from June to October <-> Valley station.
The number of parking spaces in Kandersteg is limited. We recommend traveling by public transport. Paid parking spaces are available at the valley station of the Cable car in Kandersteg. Other paid parking spaces are located in the village (school building, municipality, train station, Cher).
The Berghotel am See can be reached on foot in approx. 30 minutes. From the mountain station, a chargeable shuttle bus runs every half hour from 11.00 a.m. to the Berghotel am See and back.
