If you visit Oeschinensee by car, it is best to follow the signposts on the main road to Kandersteg. Immediately after the small bridge opposite Käthi-Sport-Mode, turn left and follow the road along the stream to the parking lot at the valley station.
If you are traveling by car or motorcycle, park your vehicle in Kandersteg.
There are numerous paid parking spaces at the valley station of Cable car Kandersteg-Oeschinensee . We recommend arriving early, especially in the high season and at weekends when the number of visitors is high.
Further parking spaces are located at the entrance to the village of Kandersteg, "im Chehr". It is a short walk (5 to 10 minutes) to the valley station.
Eight 11kW electric charging stations are available on the P2 directly at the valley station. Entry is also possible when the parking lot is occupied - simply press the button on the column. Charging cables can be purchased at the ticket office.
Only e-cars that also use the charging stations may be parked in the parking spaces with e-charging stations. Parking checks are carried out. Parking fines are issued for violations of the applicable rules.

For a stress-free journey, we recommend using public transport. Whether through the beautiful Kandertal valley or from Valais through the Lötschberg tunnel - take the train to Kandersteg.
A footpath (approx. 15 minutes) leads from the station to the valley station of the Cable car Kandersteg-Oeschinensee. From here, you can either take the Cable car or walk up to Oeschinensee.
Once you arrive at Kandersteg train station, you can reach the valley station of the Cable car Kandersteg-Oeschinensee in 8 minutes by local bus (for a fee). Click here for the bus timetable.

Kandersteg railroad station - Oeschinensee valley station "Talstation Oeschinen". From June to October, every train is served by a bus to/from Oeschinensee valley station.
A short walk leads from Kandersteg station to the valley station. Simply follow the blue signs in the direction of Oeschinensee .

Follow the signs to Oeschinensee from the station. Straight ahead towards the main road, turn left. Take the right fork at the bridge. Then follow the road to the valley station.
Of course, you can also reach Oeschinensee on foot. From Kandersteg, numerous routes lead through the beautiful nature of the Bernese Oberland up to Oeschinensee.

Entry and exit of the gondolas are at ground level, baby carriages can be easily pushed into the gondolas, e.g. also Thule bicycle trailers.
The direct hiking trail from the mountain station of Cable car to Oeschinensee is easy and accessible with baby carriages. Parts of the lakeshore and the "Chüematti" bay are also accessible with a baby carriage.
If you want to walk the route, allow around 20 minutes. The path is easy and even, so it is also suitable for wheelchairs and baby carriages.
NOTE
In winter, the wheelchair-accessible toilets at the mountain station and at the mountain restaurant Oeschinensee are only accessible via the piste or via a snow-covered winter hiking trail.
During the summer season (mid-May to mid-October), an electric shuttle (electric scooter) runs daily between the mountain station of Cable car and the mountain restaurant Oeschinensee, near the lakeshore. This means that people who are less able to walk or use a wheelchair can also visit and enjoy Oeschinensee .
NOTE
No seats can be guaranteed. Persons with reduced mobility have priority at all times. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance and seats cannot be reserved.

From Spiez and Brig you can reach Kandersteg by train (BLS). From Adelboden and Frutigen there is a bus (AFA) to Kandersteg. The walk from the station takes about 10 minutes. There is a local bus from the station for every arrival/departure from June to October <-> Valley station.
The number of parking spaces in Kandersteg is limited. We recommend traveling by public transport. Paid parking spaces are available at the valley station of the Cable car in Kandersteg. Other paid parking spaces are located in the village (school building, municipality, train station, Cher).
Wild camping and overnight stays in the great outdoors are prohibited. Camping, bivouacking and spending the night in hammocks or similar is prohibited by law. Wild animals must not be disturbed at night. There is a campsite at the valley station in Kandersteg. Unauthorized vehicles have no access to Oeschinensee. The night-time quiet rule applies (from 10.00 pm).
The Berghotel am See can be reached on foot in approx. 30 minutes. From the mountain station, a chargeable shuttle bus runs every half hour from 11.00 a.m. to the Berghotel am See and back.
You can pay at the ticket machines and at the ticket office with all major credit and debit cards, except American Express. Cash and REKA are also accepted. Payment with TWINT and REKA is only possible at the ticket counter.
Yes, children under the age of 6 travel free of charge on Cable car. The Junior Card is valid, please show it at the turnstile.
The public toilets are located at the mountain and valley stations and at the Berghotel am See. There are more toilets in the Oeschinensee area (see map). Going to the toilet in nature should be avoided. However, if you do need to use the "natural toilet", please do not leave any paper, tissues or wet wipes behind.
Dispose of waste in the official waste separation stations. Waste separation stations are located at the mountain and valley stations, at the mountain hotel by the lake, at the restaurants and along the main hiking trails. Respect nature and take everything - even the smallest bits and pieces, tissues, leftover food and cigarette butts - back down to the valley or separate the waste and dispose of it in the waste separation stations provided.
Flying drones and model aircraft is prohibited in the Oeschinensee area. There is a judicial ban, which takes precedence over the national (FOCA) and cantonal area flight zones. In this way, we protect nature and wildlife and do not disturb other guests. As a drone pilot, you are obliged to inform yourself about the applicable area restrictions before every drone flight. Some drone manufacturers have created their own geofencings. The areas shown there are specified solely by the manufacturer and do not necessarily have to comply with the legally prescribed restrictions at Oeschinensee .
Everyone is obliged to provide first aid. In an emergency, call the rescue service immediately on 1414 and inform the ranger or patrolman (ski season) on 079 481 01 12. The SOS rooms and 2 defibrillators (at the toilets of the valley station and at the exit of the mountain station) are marked on the map of Lake Oeschinen.
