Winter at Lake Oeschinen

Enjoy the fresh mountain air with a rapid downhill ski run or let your soul dangle with winter hiking & ice walking. While ice fishing you can also enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains of the Blüemlisalp group.

Current winter hiking info

The hiking trails in the Oeschinensee area are open and accessible with good footwear. Hiking time to Lake Oeschinen: 1 hour. Tip: The panoramic hike over the Heuberg, duration 3 hours (free from giddiness and sure-footedness required).

To the lake

After about 30 minutes of winter hiking you will reach Lake Oeschinen. Tip take route 8 (left) to the lake and enjoy the view of the lake. Return via route 7. Details and trail conditions can be found on our interactive winter map.

In winter you can enjoy a leisurely descent by toboggan to the lake and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

Please note: In winter no footpath to the valley or from the valley to the lake! Downhill skiing and snowboarding possible.

Sledging

Experience a leisurely descent by toboggan to the lake. Children's sledding at the magic carpet at the mountain station in Oeschiland. 

Sledge rental at the mountain station.

  • Daily rent: Wooden sledge CHF 20.- / Plastic sledge CHF 10.-
  • Open from 09h to 16h30 (return).
  • Free deckchair hire at the mountain station (against deposit)
