Only 40 minutes by train from Spiez, the resort offers numerous adventure options. Sledge from the mountain station to the lake or make your first turns with the little ones in the beginner's paradise of Oeschiland.
Good to know: you can hire sledges directly at the mountain station. The sledge rental is open from 09.00-16.30.
Tired of fun in the snow? Then relax in a deck chair at the mountain station (CHF 5.- per day) or unwind on the terrace of the self-service restaurant Bergstübli, right next to the mountain station.

ICE BATHING
Be careful when swimming in water temperatures around freezing point, do not underestimate the cold! Ice holes must be at least 50 m away from the ice walk. In addition, the SOS patroller must be informed about the ice hole (+41 79 481 01 12).

Do not enter or stay in the restricted zones (see signaling, fencing, yellow buoys). The frozen lake may only be entered when it has been officially cleared and only from 09:00-16:00. The area must be left before dark, note the last cable car ride from the mountain station.

In order for Oeschinensee to be opened for ice skating, the lake must freeze "black". This happens extremely rarely; if this is the case, you will be informed on our website. Entering Lake Oeschinen is at your own risk, and you must also observe the information screens, information boards and barriers.

There is no infrastructure on site, such as changing rooms or similar, and no skate rental. If the ice is covered with snow, skating is not possible.

LOCKING AREAS
Do not enter wildlife rest areas, plant protection areas and restricted zones. Signposts mark the protected areas where special rules apply. Never leave the marked paths and trails and always follow the signs.

In an emergency, call the rescue service (Tel. 1414). In winter, the SOS patroller (079 481 01 12) should also be informed. There is an SOS room in the mountain station. Defibrillators are located at the mountain and valley stations and at the Oeschinensee mountain restaurant.

What you should know.

How do I travel by public transport?

You can reach Kandersteg by train from Spiez and Brig. From Adelboden and Frutigen there is a bus (AFA) to Kandersteg. The walk from the station takes about 10-15 minutes. A local bus runs from the station to the valley station for every train arrival/departure from June to October.

Do children travel free of charge on Cable car?

Yes, children under the age of 6 travel free on the Cable car. The SBB Junior Card is valid, please show it at the ticket office or at the entrance to the Cable car .

Are lockers available at the top or bottom station?

Yes, there are lockers and ski racks at the top and bottom stations. Payment can be made digitally by debit card, Visa/Mastercard, Twint or cash. Weekly and season passes for lockers and ski racks are available at the ticket office.

Can I hire sledges somewhere?

Yes, sledges can be hired at the Oeschinensee mountain station for CHF 20 per day. There is a short toboggan run from the mountain station to the shore of Lake Oeschinen. The way back to the mountain station is on foot. Duration: approx. 30 minutes. Sledging is also permitted in the Oeschiland beginners' park.

Is my Magicpass subscription valid?

No, the Magicpass is not valid at Oeschinensee . You have the option of purchasing a season ticket for the winter season (CHF 80.- for adults, CHF 40.- for children). This offer is only available at the ticket office at the valley station.

Can you go ice fishing at Oeschinensee ?

Yes, ice fishing is normally possible from January 1st. Check our website before you arrive to find out whether the lake is open for ice fishing. An individual assessment of the situation must always be carried out on site (consult the SLF avalanche bulletin, check ice thickness, etc.). Entering Lake Oeschinen is at your own risk; please also observe the info screens, information boards and barriers.

Is my Adelboden-Lenk ski pass valid?

No. The Kandersteg ski region is no longer a partner of the IG Skiregion Adelboden-Lenk (IGSAL). It is possible to buy a season connection ticket Adelboden-Lenk for the Oeschinensee: children CHF 23.- adults CHF 46.- exclusively at the ticket office at the valley station. Incl. Sunnbühl: CHF 80.-/40.-.
