What you should know.

Can I buy my day ticket online?

Day tickets are easy to purchase via our webshop. Load the day pass onto a key card or your SwissPass. Alternatively, day tickets can also be purchased easily and conveniently at the valley station from our ticket machines or at the ticket office.

Is it possible to enter Oeschinensee in winter?

If the ice is thick enough and there is sufficient snow, an "Ice Walk" is prepared on the lake. This is open to all pedestrians. Good, warm winter walking boots are required. During the "Ice Walk", it is important to observe the clearance of the frozen lake and the avalanche bulletin, see current operating status website, info screens, information boards and barriers.

What outdoor guidelines apply to the use of toilets?

The public toilets are located at the mountain and valley stations and at the mountain restaurant on the lake shore. There are more toilets in Oeschinensee(see map). Going to the toilet in nature should be avoided. However, if you do need to use the "natural toilet", please do not leave any paper, tissues or wet wipes behind.

Can I hire sledges somewhere?

Yes, sledges can be hired at the Oeschinensee mountain station for CHF 20 per day. There is a short toboggan run from the mountain station to the shore of Lake Oeschinen. The way back to the mountain station is on foot. Duration: approx. 30-40 minutes. Sledging is also permitted in the Oeschiland beginners' park.

Is it possible to snowshoe in the Oeschinensee area?

Yes, a snowshoe trail leads from the valley station to Oeschinensee. Duration of the hike: approx. 1.5 hours. Depending on weather conditions, the snowshoe trail is only suitable for experienced snowshoers. You can also snowshoe from the mountain station on the official winter hiking trails. Please note the operating times of the Cable car !

Can you go winter hiking in the Oeschinensee area?

Yes, you can take a beautiful winter hike from the mountain station to the shores of Lake Oeschinen. We recommend the route via Läger to the viewpoint and then the direct route from the lake back to the mountain station. When open, the Ice Walk on the frozen lake also offers a beautiful winter hike. Good, warm winter hiking boots are required. Please note the Cable car operating times! Hiking trails above the Oeschinensee are closed in winter and marked as closed accordingly.

What outdoor guidelines must be observed in wildlife rest areas and protected areas?

Do not enter wildlife rest areas, plant protection areas and restricted zones. Signposts mark the protected areas where special rules apply. Never leave the marked paths and tracks and always follow the signs. Plants must not be dug up, picked or trampled.

What outdoor guidelines apply to waste collection and separation?

Collect the waste and dispose of it in the waste stations. Waste separation stations are located at the mountain and valley stations, at the mountain coaster and along the main hiking trails.

Which outdoor guidelines should be observed when providing first aid?

In an emergency, call the rescue service immediately (telephone number 1414). You should also inform the ranger (079 603 28 78) in summer and the SOS patroller (079 481 01 12) in winter. There is an SOS room in the mountain station. Defibrillators are located at the mountain and valley stations and at the Oeschinensee mountain restaurant, near the lakeshore.
