Winter activities at the Oeschinensee
Information for winter hikers:
In the intermediate season you can reach the Oeschinensee exclusively on foot via hiking trail "Huble" or "Grünenwald/Skipiste". We recommend solid footwear, there is always snow in the area. The hiking trails at the higher altitudes are closed. Attention, the hiking signs are not yet mounted in some places.Skiing information
Small, manageable and with quality. The ski area above Kandersteg. Reachable from Thun, Bern or Solothurn within a short time and without stress. A long journey over winding roads or countless changes are in vain. The cable car ride to Lake Oeschinen takes only a few minutes and you are already on the slopes.
ice fishing
Access on the frozen lake is closed and will not be monitored any more.Experience an unforgettable day trip at one of the most famous mountain lakes in Switzerland, above Kandersteg.
Not for nothing is the area around the lake in the Unesco World Heritage Jungfrau Aletsch. The impressive nature, the snow-covered winter hiking trails, the fresh mountain air and as a highlight the frozen lake… Lake Oeschinen calls! For beginners and connoisseurs, the small and snow-sure ski area offers great pistes. The lake is completely frozen from December to the end of March and can be explored on foot on one of the Ice Walks. Treat yourself to something delicious to eat in one of the mountain guesthouses near the mountain station or in the mountain hotel directly on the lake. Simply Unique!
